Hello,
At St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto we vaccinate all our dialysis patients for seasonal flu. This year we will be doing the same - i.e. for H1N1 and seasonal influenza, though H1N1 seems to be the dominant strain this year.

Thanks Jordan
Yes i know this , in Prince Salman Center for Kidney Diseases - KSA we follow the recomended vaccination annual schedule ( annual influnza- Pneumoccocal- HBV after testing for Antibody ). Do you have any soild recommendation( WHO-CDC ) for H1N1 vaccination in HD patients apart from the few published studies.

The issue has globally calmed down a little, now the Northern Hemisphere is moving slowly out of the critical period. We expect the second wave to hit our shores by March-April and will vaccinate all our patients in February. i wonder what people think: it is my feeling that we are vaccinating against the mild strain. As far as I see it, the general concern is the emergence of a mutated H1N1 that could, like the Spanish Flu in 1918 become a killer. i wonder if the vaccination has any advantages.
